Just been looking through your gallery and I really do like your stuff - especially the Johanna series, the poses and ideas are excellent. I notice you said you were just starting out at portraits - try using your flash a little to take the shadows off the models face and to light the eyes up

... and then invest in a prime lens for seriously nice blurry backgrounds.
